Accessibility
We aim to make Football Time Machine usable with a keyboard, magnification and assistive technology, using WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our engineering target.
Using the explorer
- Use the skip link to reach the explorer. Year selection supports the slider, keyboard arrows, previous/next buttons and a typed year.
- Year, search, country and category controls have labels. Record counts and invalid-year messages are available to assistive technology.
- Both galleries scroll internally. Tab to a gallery or a record to reach its contents.
- Opening a record moves focus into its details dialog. Escape closes it and returns focus to the activating control. Tab stays inside the dialog while it is open.
- Visible focus indicators, narrow-window reflow and reduced-motion support are included. Neutral letter marks are illustrative; the adjacent text identifies their subjects.
Review status and limitations
We have not completed an independent accessibility audit or established full WCAG conformance. The explorer is designed primarily for desktop use and also supports narrow-window reflow; desktop priority does not exempt accessibility requirements.
Release-specific automated and manual checks are recorded in the project’s release evidence. A real screen-reader pass and testing across every browser/assistive-technology combination have not been completed. These limits are not a claim that all remaining barriers have been identified.
Report a barrier
A working public accessibility reporting channel has not been provided for this release. This is a known limitation, alongside the incomplete audit. The operator’s direct contact details have not yet been supplied. When a channel is established, a useful report can identify the page, affected task and browser or assistive technology without unnecessary personal information.
A future accessibility reporting process should feed into the project’s bug review. We do not promise a response deadline or statutory certification. We will update this statement as checks and corrections are completed.
